Sarah is a founding member of Jay & Campbell, PLLC. Sarah is a trial attorney, fluent in Spanish, with over a decade of experience in criminal defense, dependency (foster care) and termination of parental rights, adoption, and paternity cases. Sarah is also an experienced guardian ad litem and is certified as a volunteer child advocate for the Guardian ad Litem Program for the 19th Judicial Circuit. Sarah began her work in child welfare in 2008 when she was selected as a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow for Florida’s Children First, a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to advancing the rights of at-risk children, especially those in foster care. Since then, Sarah has tried hundreds of child welfare cases, both as an attorney for the Department of Children and as a court-appointed attorney representing children and parents involved in the dependency system. Sarah has in-depth experience litigating contested adoption cases, especially as it relates to adoptions of children in state custody. Sarah has handled many cases involving the placement of children nationwide under the Interstate Compact for Placement of Children (ICPC). As a Fellow of the Academy of Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Attorneys, Sarah is recognized by colleagues as a vetted and experienced adoption attorney.
Sarah is a graduate of St. Thomas University School of Law, and she received her BA in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Florida. Sarah enjoys spending her free time with her husband, three children, and their assorted pets.
