Marling Ampie

Marling Ampie is the Supervisor for Juvenile Delinquency at the Office of Criminal and Civil Regional Counsel (“ORCC”) for Florida’s 4th District. In this role, she advocates for youths involved in the justice system by ensuring their legal and constitutional rights are protected. Marling also represents parents in dependency proceedings; she helps parents understand their rights and responsibilities and ensures their interests are protected while navigating this complex and rather challenging legal process in all key stages, including trial.

Marling earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University as a member of the Honors College. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University College of Law, where she served as Vice President of the Asian American Law Student Association and participated in the International Legal Studies Summer Abroad Program in Spain. Her academic achievements were recognized with multiple honors, including the First Year Law School Merit Scholarship, the Patino Family Scholarship, the Benvenuti-Mulvey Endowed Scholarship, and consistent placement on the Dean’s List.

Following law school, Marling began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County. She handled a broad range of cases—from misdemeanors to Juvenile. As an Assistant Public Defender, she gained extensive courtroom and trial experience. Throughout her career, Marling has been committed to public service-specially youth advocacy. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her daughter and her husband.
