Yelizaveta “Liz” Batres Herman

Liz is a double Gator who had left Miami for UF and has called Palm Beach County

home since moving here after law school. She started her legal career working for an appellate judge at the Fourth District Court of Appeal, and then went into private
practice as a construction and commercial litigator. In 2017, she jumped at the
opportunity to work with her long-time mentor who was the longest serving County
Attorney. The County Attorney’s Office provides legal counsel on all matters related to the operation of the County to the Board of County Commissioners, all County
Departments/Divisions, regulatory boards and advisory boards. Similar to the many hats an in-house attorney wears, Liz’s diverse transactional practice includes land
development, transportation and real estate law, constitutional and tax law, ethics law, public procurement, and tourism development matters.

Outside of the office, Liz is a strong supporter of getting involved in the community, and promoting mentoring initiatives. She enjoys volunteering her time to advance the legal profession and other causes about which she is passionate. Some recent highlights of her professional achievements include

● Women’s Foundation, Raise The Bar Host Committee Member
● Florida Supreme Court Appointment to the Unlicensed Practice of Law
Committee
● Florida Bar Government Advocacy Committee, Executive Subcommittee Member
● Florida Association for Women Lawyers, 2018 Leader in the Law Award
● Women’s Philanthropy Board of Directors, Jewish Federation of PBC
● Former Chair of the Judicial Relations Committee and of the Land Use
Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar Association.

Liz is married to another attorney, Ron Herman, who manages a successful white-colllar criminal defense firm. Outside of practicing law or serving on various boards and committees, you can find the Hermans on the Peloton leaderboard or chasing their two daughters.
